Continuing Education Providers
A great deal of confusion has occurred over the information that is required to be submitted to NAESA when seeking approval.
The following types of programs will be considered for approval:
· Programs covering the application of new technology
· Programs on current local administration of operating procedures addressing the requirements necessary for inspectors to discharge their duties
· Programs covering the most recent revisions of ASME A17.1, ASME A17.2, ASME A17.3, ASME A17.4, ASME A18.1 and awareness of B44/A17.5 to the extent that it is specified in ASME A17.1 and ASME A18.1, as well as the applicable requirements in the building, fire, electrical and accessibility codes
For more information on what is acceptable, please refer to the Training Matrix as approved by the Board of Certification on 1/16/2010.
The following information must accompany requests for approval:
· The Approval as a Continuing Education Provider Form

All requests must be submitted a minimum of 30 days prior to the date of the event. This is to ensure that adequate time is given to review the request; provide feedback to submitters, and publicize the event in the Progress and online. A small stipend ($25) is required for each individual wishing to apply the training towards his/her required continuing education units. The stipend fee covers the cost of the administrative tasks associated with reviewing requests, publicizing the event in the Progress and tracking the CEUs for inspectors. This fee is not applied to Authorities Having Jurisdiction when the AHJs are requesting approval of in-house training that is available to their employees only. However, a fee will apply if the AHJ requests approval of training that will be made available to the public.
Please remember that continuing education sessions must be approved by NAESA in order to fulfill the continuing education units. Please call our office if you have a question regarding the approval of a training seminar.
