NAESA International Donates $500 to Threads of Life

TORONTO, ONTARIO – NAESA International commemorated the 5th anniversary of their Canadian Region by donating $500 to Threads of Life. Threads of Life is a national, registered charitable organization that provides families affected by a workplace fatality, life-altering injury or occupational disease with the only one-on-one peer support program in the world provided by trained Volunteer Family Guides. These Volunteer Family Guides have experienced first-hand a workplace tragedy providing them with a unique understanding of the difficulties that other families face.  Threads of Life is supported by a network of volunteers from across the country who have been personally touched by a workplace tragedy.

“I was contemplating a way to celebrate the Canadian Region’s 5th anniversary when I heard Jim Sanford speak at one of NAESA’s Canadian Region Workshops.” says Dotty Stanlaske, Executive Director of NAESA International. “Jim works in the elevator construction business and was extremely proud when his son, Jim Jr, followed in his footsteps.  Jim relayed the story of how disaster struck in 2005 when Jim Jr. was killed on the job while working on an elevator. It was heartbreaking to hear Sanford speak of the effect that his son’s death had on the family. It made sense to contribute to this organization’s cause as workplace safety is a central theme embraced by both NAESA International and Threads of Life.”
