Door Force Measurement

Author Post
John W Koshak On linear door operators, some designs when the doors are stalled cause a reopening of the doors. This does not allow a measurement of the door force using A17.2 procedures. In some cases I have read over 60 lbf when on nudging. The Code does not address nudging closing force. How are inspectors measuring door closing force on these systems?
Matthew A Pike I'm not sure that code does not address nudging closing force. Whether on nudging or normal speed the force cannot exceed 30lbf. Kinetic energy is addressed for nudging and normal speed. It sounds like there should be some unique procedure available for those types of operators.
